An exciting opportunity has arisen for an SLC Coordinator to join the Student Records and Statutory Compliance (SRC) Team within the Finance and Planning (FPG) division. This role is central to ensuring that the University meets its statutory obligations to the Student Loans Company (SLC), supporting the accurate administration of student finance processes and providing advice and guidance on SLC-related matters to students and staff.
You will play a key role in administering student finance activities for the Universities’ Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught and Postgraduate Research students, ensuring compliance with Student Loans Company regulations and University procedures. Responsibilities will include maintaining the SLC Course Management Service (CMS), supporting student registration and attendance confirmation, processing changes of circumstance, and helping to ensure the timely release of student funding and tuition fee payments. You will also contribute to the University's preparations for the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) and support continuous improvement of systems and processes.
Working closely with colleagues across Academic Registry, Admissions, ITCS, Data Quality & Standards, Student Information Zone and Finance teams, you will provide advice and guidance to both staff and students on student finance matters. You will assist with reporting, reconciliations, training, guidance materials and process development, helping to maintain high standards of data quality, compliance and customer service.
You will be educated to A-Level standard, degree level, or possess equivalent relevant experience. You will have experience of working with confidential and sensitive information, managing competing priorities and delivering advice or support to customers or stakeholders. Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills are essential, together with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Experience of student records systems, statutory reporting, regulatory compliance or external funding bodies would be advantageous.
