Lecturer in Accounting - Teaching Focused

About the role

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Accounting. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery and ongoing development of our undergraduate and postgraduate accounting curriculum, both on campus and through distance learning provision. You will teach mainstream accounting subjects, supervise student dissertations, support curriculum enhancement, and undertake a range of academic duties that contribute to an outstanding student experience. 

As part of a vibrant and international School of Business, you will contribute to scholarship activities, engage with academic and professional communities, and support the wider work of the School through administration, enterprise activities and leadership where appropriate. The School of Business is internationally recognised for its expertise across accounting, finance, business and management, and provides a collaborative environment in which staff can make a meaningful contribution to teaching excellence and academic innovation.

About you

You will have recognised expertise in either financial accounting or taxation, together with recent experience of teaching in one of these areas. You will hold a completed PhD and/or membership of an appropriate professional body such as ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA or CIMA, and will be able to demonstrate your ability to deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will be committed to pedagogical excellence, student success and the continuous development of your academic practice. 

You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, strong IT competency, and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively. Experience of postgraduate dissertation supervision, distance learning provision, practical experience within industry or the accounting profession, Higher Education Academy Fellowship, or experience of using Excel in an accounting setting would be advantageous.
