We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a postdoctoral fellow within the group of Dr Agostina Bertolin, to study molecular mechanisms of DNA-end homeostasis during human genome replication, and their links to human disease. This is a fixed-term appointment for 3 years.
In our recent work (Bertolin et al, 2025, doi.org/10.1016/j.molcel.2025.06.002; Canal et al, 2025, doi.org/10.1016/j.molcel.2025.06.001) we have shown how the DNA replication checkpoint limits Okazaki fragment accumulation to protect stalled forks from attack by factors such as HLTF, allowing the subsequent restart of stalled forks. In our future work, we want to explore the mechanism of action of HLTF and other factors, during the normal regulation of stalled forks (e.g. during fork reversal) and in the context of human cancer.
Candidates should have a strong background in related areas, such as protein biochemistry, mammalian cell biology, structural biology, etc.
