Daphne Jackson Fellowship (0.6 FTE)

Applications are invited for a Daphne Jackson Fellowship co-funded by the Brain Tumour Research Centre, University of Plymouth. The part-time (0.6FTE) fellowship is intended for researchers interested in brain tumour research, who are educated to PhD level and who want to return to research after a career break of at least two years.

Brain Tumour Research Centre

The Brain Tumour Research Centre hosted at the Peninsula Medical School works with academic and industry partners in state-of-the-art facilities. It aims to understand the biology of brain tumours and translate their findings to make an impact for patients.

Dr Barros is an Associate Professor of Neuroscience whose areas of research are mechanisms of brain tumourigenesis: glioma initiation, development and targeting tumour growth with novel therapeutics, as well as neural stem cell biology and brain development. The lab uses multiple model systems to understand tumour biology with collaborative initiatives in complementary research areas.

Daphne Jackson Fellowships are unique.  They offer the opportunity to return to a career in research after a break of at least two years for family, caring or health reasons.
