Sustainability Lecturer and Module Leader

Contract Type: Full-Time or Part-Time; Permanent contracts available

Hours: Full-time appointments are based on 37.5 hours per week. Part-time hours will be agreed with the successful candidate. The Academy operates across weekdays, weekday evenings and weekends, and flexibility to teach during these times is required.

LCK Academy is seeking to appoint an outstanding Sustainability Lecturer and Module Leader to join its growing Higher Education team. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative, student-focused academic to deliver high-quality teaching while leading designated modules across our business programmes.

Working closely with the Head of Programme(s), you will contribute to curriculum development, academic quality, student success and continuous improvement. You will inspire students to understand how organisations can create sustainable economic, environmental and social value through responsible business practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging teaching across Sustainability and related Business and Management modules at Levels 3–6.
• Lead designated modules, including planning, delivery, assessment, moderation and annual evaluation.
• Develop high-quality learning materials and assessments reflecting current developments in sustainability, ESG and responsible leadership.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student achievement and progression.
• Act as a Personal Tutor, providing academic guidance and pastoral support.
• Monitor student engagement and performance, implementing interventions where appropriate.
• Contribute to curriculum development, programme enhancement and validation activities.
• Participate in moderation, examination boards and quality assurance processes.
• Maintain subject expertise through scholarly activity and continuing professional development.
• Support recruitment, induction, open events and other institutional activities.
• Work collaboratively to promote an inclusive, supportive and high-performing academic environment.

Essential Criteria:

• Master's degree in Business, Sustainability, Environmental Management, ESG, Corporate Social Responsibility or a closely related discipline.
• Experience teaching in UK Higher Education or Further Education.
• Experience leading or coordinating academic modules.
• Strong knowledge of sustainable business strategy, ESG, CSR, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and responsible management.
• Experience designing, delivering and assessing higher education modules.
• Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
• Ability to engage students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.
• Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, safeguarding and student wellbeing.
• Fellowship of Advance HE (FHEA), or willingness to achieve within 12 months.
• UK-recognised teaching qualification (PGCertHE, PGCHE or PGCE), or willingness to obtain one within 12 months.

Desirable Criteria:

• Doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Professional or consultancy experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental management or corporate governance.
• Experience using Moodle or other virtual learning environments.
• Experience contributing to curriculum design, validation or quality assurance.
• Knowledge of the UK Quality Code and Office for Students (OfS) regulatory framework.
