The Role
Accountable to the Board of Medical Studies, through the Office of the Director or Deputy Director of Medical Studies, to manage the delivery and assessment of the Essentials of Clinical Practice (EoCP) and Medicine, Acute Care and Surgery (MACS) courses of the MBBS curriculum. These courses are currently evolving to ensure the transition for medical students into the clinical environment is as smooth as possible whilst striving to develop important foundations for the rest of their clinical training. It is envisaged that these two courses will merge into one course to facilitate these goals.
The postholder will work closely with local education providers (LEP) within the regional medical school and NUMed, and will ensure the quality of teaching, learning and assessment for all students undertaking this clinical placement. The postholder will work closely with the Year Leads, alongside primary and secondary care colleagues delivering the courses. They will be directly accountable to Dr Helen Cooke, Head of Year 3.
