Research Assurance Support Officer

Do you want to help researchers at the University of Sheffield undertake exciting and collaborative international research?  We have an exciting opportunity in our Research Assurance team for someone with an enquiring mind, tenacity and great analytical skills, to work collaboratively and supportively in a small team to undertake assurance checks on external partners and funders.

You will

• Be able to gather and analyse complex information from diverse sources, identifying and presenting key facts/risks in a clear and accurate written summary;
• Have a meticulous and organised approach to record-keeping and information verification; 
• Have the ability to explain technical policies or compliance requirements to a range of audiences in a straightforward and pragmatic way;
• Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both with individuals and small groups, and experience of building strong, effective working relationships;
• Have the ability to work flexibly and effectively, both independently and as part of a team, knowing when to escalate queries;
• Enjoy the challenge of a varied workload;

The Research Assurance team (situated within Research, Partnerships and Innovation) manages our Due Diligence and Export Control activities and provides expert professional support to ensure research partnerships comply with both internal policies and external legislation.  Working closely with professional colleagues, you will manage a varied workload of enquiries and projects, ensuring sensitive data is handled with the utmost confidentiality
