We have an exciting opportunity in the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering for someone with practical experience in fabrication and characterisation of avalanche photodiodes to join our research project on III-V infrared avalanche photodiodes. You will work in a research team with world-leading reputations in infrared avalanche photodiodes. We have pioneered several avalanche materials to improve performance of avalanche photodiodes, some of which have been successfully commercialised.
You will possess a PhD degree in infrared avalanche photodiodes based on III-V semiconductor materials (or have equivalent experience). You will work closely with other team members of the same project, sharing tasks of device fabrication, characterisation and data analyses of infrared avalanche diodes based on III-V semiconductor materials.
In addition to carrying out the research required by the project, the role will involve preparation of technical reports for the consortium or funder, documents/presentations/demonstrations for wider disseminations and training PhD students in the research group on device fabrication and characterisation.
