Hatton Professorship of Sustainability

The Board of Electors to the Hatton Professorship of Sustainability invite applications for this Professorship from persons whose work falls within the general field of the Professorship (combining behavioural sciences and sustainability studies) to take up appointment on 1 July 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Candidates will have an outstanding research record of international stature in a relevant area of study (includes experimental psychology, social neuroscience, behavioural economics, consumer behaviour, political science, policy studies, and environmental social sciences, as well as allied disciplines).

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the applications of research to address real world sustainability problems, working in combination with governments, businesses and civil society partners to design and monitor the impacts of interventions. They will be solution orientated with a special focus on individual, corporate and collective action towards environmental sustainability. They will be expected to demonstrate the vision, leadership, experience and enthusiasm to build on current strengths in maintaining and developing a leading research presence. They will hold a PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualification.

Standard professorial duties include teaching and research, examining, supervision and administration. The Professor will be based in Cambridge. A competitive salary will be offered.
