The School of Education, Health and Science is located across three campuses which provide inspiring learning and teaching environments in Cheltenham and Gloucester. This post is based in the state-of-the-art City Campus in Gloucester which is home to collaborative learning spaces and a dynamic team of educators.

Recent years have seen the development of specialist new programmes and members of our team have been successful in securing research funding. We are now looking for an experienced academic/s to join us as a Research Supervisor to guide our students through Level 8 research provision.  

We have both fixed term and permanent opportunities available, and post/s will be offered at 0.2 FTE. The specific number of hours/students assigned to the new colleague/s will be discussed with the successful candidate/s.

Applicants will be able to offer these essentials:

  • A PhD/doctoral qualification in Education or a closely related subject discipline.
  • Relevant research expertise in an area relevant to the supervision of EdD students.
  • Experience of supervising students at doctoral level.
  • Experience of supervising to completion successful dissertations.
  • A sound understanding of qualitative, quantitative and/or mixed-methods research.
  • The ability to provide constructive, supportive and appropriately challenging feedback at doctoral level.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a supervisory team.
  • A commitment to inclusive practice and to supporting students from diverse professional, cultural and educational backgrounds.
  • The ability to maintain accurate records and meet agreed supervision and reporting requirements.
