Musculoskeletal Study Coordinator

About the Role
This exciting role is based within the Centre for Bone and Joint Health (BJH) at Queen Mary University of London and supports the delivery of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Barts Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Musculoskeletal Theme. Working across Queen Mary University of London and Barts Health NHS Trust, you will provide a combination of professional administrative and research support to ensure the successful coordination and delivery of a portfolio of musculoskeletal research studies, with a particular focus on the Northeast London Early Osteoarthritis Study (NELOA).

You will work closely with clinical and academic colleagues to support all stages of study delivery, from regulatory approvals and participant recruitment through to data collection, monitoring and reporting. The role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to research that aims to improve outcomes for people living with musculoskeletal conditions through earlier diagnosis, innovative treatments and advances in personalised medicine.

About You
You will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent professional experience, together with experience of supporting clinical trials and/or health-related research, including research approvals processes. You will possess a sound understanding of clinical research governance, regulatory requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

You will be highly organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities in a busy research environment. Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with both clinical and academic teams. You will also have excellent IT skills, strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality research. An interest in musculoskeletal health and orthopaedic research would be advantageous but is not essential.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 360 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre and supports a combined total of c700 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.
