Applications are invited for a Statistician to join the Core Science Services team at Quadram Institute.

The role: 

A statistician is required to support world-leading research and related activities at Quadram Institute Bioscience. Working under the guidance of the Senior Statistician and as part of the Core Science Services team, the postholder will provide statistical support across the Institute’s research areas.

The role will involve working with scientists, students and other methods specialists to support a broad range of research in bioscience, including laboratory studies, human studies, epidemiology, genomics and other data-intensive areas.

The role would suit a statistician with a strong foundation in in applied statistical methods, good time management and communication skills, curiosity about biological research, and the ability to identify and learn new methods.

The ideal candidate: 

Candidates should have a Master’s degree, or equivalent experience, in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, applied mathematics or another highly quantitative discipline with a strong statistical component.

Knowledge of advanced statistical design and analysis methods relevant to the work of the institute, and experience of developing, conducting and reporting statistical analyses in a collaborative academic setting. 

Additional information:

This is a full-time post for a contract until 31 March 2028.

Salary on appointment will be within the range £38,000 to £46,500 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
