Research Associate

In this role, the successful candidate will make a leading contribution to the NIHR-funded project "Adolescent Health and Well-being in Malawi", working with Professor Edward Sosu and an international consortium of partners across Malawi, the UK and Singapore.

The postholder will contribute to the Longitudinal Observatory workstream, a unique mixed-methods study tracking the health and wellbeing of very early adolescents across multiple time points. The project examines how psychological, social, educational, economic, political and geographical factors shape the trajectory of adolescent health and wellbeing in Malawi.

Working closely with Professor Sosu and project collaborators, the postholder will take a leading role in curating, managing and analysing longitudinal survey data using advanced quantitative methods. They will contribute to the production of high-quality research outputs, including academic publications, technical reports, policy briefs and media-facing outputs, and will support wider project activities and collaborations. In addition, they will also have opportunities to contribute to the analysis and dissemination of longitudinal qualitative findings where appropriate.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious quantitative researcher to work with a rich longitudinal dataset, contribute to research with significant international policy relevance, and generate high-impact outputs that inform adolescent health and development in low- and middle-income countries.
