The School is seeking to appoint a:

Learner & Study Skills Support Manager (0.4 FTE) 

Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) is seeking a passionate and experienced Learner & Study Skills Support Manager to play a key role in supporting student success, inclusion and wellbeing.

Working as part of our Student Support team, you will provide specialist study skills support for students with Specific Learning Differences (SpLDs), neurodivergence and disabilities, helping them develop the confidence, skills and strategies needed to flourish in higher education and beyond. You will also contribute to the development of inclusive learning practices across the institution, working collaboratively with academic colleagues to ensure all students are able to achieve their full potential.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a creative and dynamic conservatoire environment that places students at the heart of everything it does. 

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Professional experience supporting students with SpLDs, neurodivergence and/or disabilities within higher education.
  • A recognised qualification enabling the delivery of specialist study skills support in line with DSA-QAF requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
  • A commitment to inclusion, accessibility and student-centred practice.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary support team. 

Hours of work: 0.4 FTE (2-year fixed term contract). 2 days per week, (37 hours full time, pro rata 14.8 hours per week) to be worked flexibly over the year around student need and availability. This may include evening work. 

Remuneration: £33,447 - £34,268 pro rata (actual £13,378 - £13,707) from 1 September 2026 

Contract: 2-year fixed term contract
