About the role:

We are looking for an individual to join our Equine Sciences Department at Hartpury University.

  • To support and deliver the practical &/or industry applied sessions and visits across our Equine and Racing Performance and Rehabilitation programmes
  • Aspire to ensure the continuous improvement of the student experience, teaching and learning excellence, and have clear appreciation of industry application and impact in the curriculum
  • Support the wider equine curriculum at both undergraduate and postgraduate level
  • Take ownership of module leadership and academic personal tutoring
  • To have supervision of student research projects

About you:

  • You will have a relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent, and bring with you experience of the applied equine and/or racing industries
  • Relevant industry practical qualifications to support the delivery of the practical sessions on our equine yard
  • Have a higher education teaching qualification or professional recognition (e.g. FHEA/SFHEA or equivalent) or a commitment to complete one within one year
  • Committed to creating a high-quality student experience, evidenced through a focus on excellence within teaching and learning. A record of active scholarship and knowledge exchange is essential
  • A clear appreciation of the connectivity between theory and practice and the ability to foster industry partnerships to develop placement links for our students
  • Able to contribute across the wider department and demonstrate a flexible skill set
  • You will be highly motivated, self-reliant and enthusiastic and passionate about delivering the highest quality of teaching, learning and student experience to undergraduate students
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and team working skills, along with the ability to manage your own time and work to deadlines
