At UEA we are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where students can thrive academically, personally, and socially. As part of our dedication to student wellbeing, we are seeking a passionate Wellbeing Trainer three days a week to join our team and deliver transformative wellbeing programs across the university.
As a Wellbeing Trainer, you will design and deliver wellbeing-focused training and skills building sessions that empower students to take proactive control of their mental health and overall wellbeing. You will also provide essential information on available support services and how to access them. Key topics will include stress management, resilience, wellness action planning, motivation, and mental health awareness, with both in-person and online sessions offered across the university.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to a range of initiatives, from embedding wellbeing practices within the curriculum to offering a central menu of workshops, events and online resources accessible to students throughout the academic year. You will also tailor your approach to meet the unique needs of diverse student groups, ensuring the highest impact in enhancing their wellbeing. This role is not just about delivering knowledge; it’s about using pedagogical strategies to activate learning, build essential skills, and foster lasting behavioural change.
In addition to teaching and learning, you will recognise the importance of engaging students in a digital-first era, requiring you to strategically select innovative methods to maximise participation and engagement. This includes input into the management of the service’s social media channels as a vital tool for communication, awareness, and student engagement, as well as developing and maintaining a comprehensive bank of online resources, accessible 24/7, to provide continuous support.
You must have proven experience of delivering training or workshops both in-person and online. Experience or familiarity with working in a wellbeing context and/or within higher education is highly desirable.
You must have an understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion as well as being able to work collaboratively with a diverse range of individuals.
