This role will be based in the Clinical Academic Training Office, Clinical Sciences Building, St James’s University Hospital, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Dedicated to developing the academic clinicians of the future this role will support doctors, dentists and healthcare professionals to balance their clinical care with academic research and teaching.
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and motivated Business Operations Officer to support the Faculty of Medicine and Health. You will join the team to provide high quality administrative support to the Clinical Academic Training programme processes in recruitment, purchasing, expenses/external payments and event management. This role will have a particular focus on ensuring recruitment queries and processes are managed correctly.
You will also be responsible for managing the Programme’s databases including updating Teams and Sharepoint sites; taking responsibility for external statutory data returns; being the point of contact for the Faculty clinical academic training queries; advising on and authorising complex UK and overseas travel and accommodation expenses claims; and supporting the delivery of events including liaising with venues and overseeing registration processes.
You will work with other colleagues within the Business Operations Teams and from Professional Services across the Faculty, including HR, Purchasing and Finance Offices, to adopt and embed a continuous improvement and service excellence approach. This will involve establishing and developing best practice processes & procedures and working to ensure these are implemented through Faculty peer networks. You will be expected to handle confidential information in a discreet, sensitive and diplomatic manner, ensuring security of access to such information is maintained at all times.
