Are you looking for a new, exciting challenge?
The University of Glasgow has been changing the world for more than 575 years.
An opportunity has arisen for an Interim Director of Commercial Finance to join the University's Finance team. This exciting new role will be integral in enhancing the University's ability to deliver improvements in commercial returns and provide strategic finance support and advice for economic development and international initiatives.
Income from commercial sources is greater than 100m per annum and is set to grow as the University invests in further commercial operations and opportunities and seeks to partner with others to develop commercial and economic development impact in and beyond Glasgow.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance you will be responsible for leading the strategic and operational development of the University's commercial finance strategy, driving value, growth, and income generation for the University, in support of its strategic objectives.
This role will have significant impact on a University wide basis in which you will interact at a senior level with internal stakeholders, and also externally with funders, customers, and potential partners.
With a proven track record of leadership and delivery at a senior financial level, operating within a political or highly complex, large environment, you will possess significant post-qualification corporate finance and commercial finance experience.
You will have well-developed commercial negotiation skills in multi-million-pound long term deals, and an expert knowledge of project financing, contracts, and structures.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement strategy and policy. You will have a strong ability and extensive experience in managing and developing high performing teams to deliver excellence, including the management of third-party experts.
Please get in touch with Martina Cooper, martina.cooper@glasgow.ac.uk if you would like a confidential, informal discussion.
