The Surrey Sleep Research Centre (SSRC) is dedicated to multidisciplinary research on the function and regulation of sleep and circadian rhythms. Its sleep recording facilities and equipment are state of the art, enabling longitudinal and intensive physiological monitoring of participants under carefully controlled conditions. The SSRC is home to a forward-thinking team of physiologists, molecular biologists, neuroscientists, psychologists, and engineers who passionately address several of the most important questions in sleep and neuroscience research.

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Sleep Research Assistant to support the collection and analysis of human sleep data in a  wide variety of research projects focussed on the role of sleep in cognition, brain and mental health. The role will require working night shifts, will provide opportunities for training and development, membership of a diverse team of sleep researchers and exposure to a vibrant sleep research culture.  

About you

You should have a genuine interest in sleep research, be comfortable with digital technologies, and have good interpersonal skills to support the acquisition of sleep data from a wide variety of participants. We expect at least GCSE or O level or equivalent knowledge of English and Mathematics or relevant vocational qualifications. Relevant experience in working in a clinical research environment is desirable. You will be willing to work night shifts and keen to acquire new skills and procedures. Previous experience of sleep recording is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
