We are the University of Cumbria, for and from Cumbria and our localities, rooted in serving our communities, with people, place and partnership at our heart.

Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new "Towards 2030" strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally. This post is available as a secondment opportunity.

This is an exciting time to join the Centre of Excellence in Paramedic Practice at the University of Cumbria. As the largest provider of paramedic education in the UK, with a workforce of over 70 FTE, the Centre offers significant scale and opportunity to grow its research portfolio and impact.

As Senior Research Fellow, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the Centre’s research strategy, building research capability across our staff and student community, and supporting pathways from research development through to publication. You will lead and contribute to research funding bids, deliver high-quality research activity, and strengthen knowledge exchange pathways to ensure our research creates meaningful impact across practice, education and the wider sector.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the next phase of research development within a large, ambitious and thriving Centre of Excellence.

The University is committed to nurturing an environment where its employees, students and visitors are treated fairly and with respect at all times. We recognise that if we provide a fully inclusive working and studying environment, we will enable everyone to perform to the best of their ability. Recognising, embracing and valuing difference will lead to improvements for everyone, including:

  • A more diverse staff and student population;
  • A better working and studying environment;
  • Attracting and retaining the very best staff and students;
  • Achieving the University mission, vision and values;
  • Meeting and exceeding the challenging targets and performance indicators in the University corporate plan.

Informal Enquiries: Tom Davidson, Director of Allied Health Professionals and the Centre of Excellence in Paramedic Practice. Email: tom.davidson@cumbria.ac.uk

In return, the University offers an attractive benefits package including 35 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, support for professional development, mentor provision in the first year of employment and opportunity for career development.
