About the Role
Join Queen Mary University of London at a pivotal point in its digital transformation as we build a modern event-driven integration platform connecting the University's core systems and services. As an Integration Developer, you will play a key role in designing, building and maintaining reliable, scalable integrations that enable seamless data flow across student, finance, HR, research and operational systems.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role where you will combine technical delivery with peer review, engineering best practice and continuous improvement. You will work closely with developers, product owners, data specialists and system owners to deliver integrations that support critical university services and improve operational effectiveness across the institution.

About You
We are looking for an experienced software engineer with strong background in integration development, distributed systems or data-platform engineering. You will have experience designing and delivering event-driven solutions and are confident working with modern development practices, including code review, automated testing and Agile delivery.

You will have strong technical skills in backend development, ideally including Go and Python, and have experience building reliable integrations between complex systems. You understand how to design robust, maintainable solutions, can communicate technical concepts clearly, and take pride in producing high-quality, well-tested code.

We are also looking for an individual who enjoys collaborating with others, supporting colleagues and helping to establish engineering standards within a team and curious about emerging technologies and modern integration patterns. You are also motivated by solving complex technical challenges and delivering practical outcomes that make a tangible difference to users and organisational performance.
