Lecturer in Fashion Management: Product and Operations

Location: LCF, Stratford

London College of Fashion is seeking a Lecturer in Fashion Management to bring your expertise in fashion product and operations into an academic environment where you can influence how the next generation of fashion professionals understand, question and develop industry practice. 

Working across undergraduate and postgraduate provision, you will teach within your specialist area while helping to develop the curriculum and pedagogy in innovative, critical and inclusive directions. Based within the Fashion Business School’s Leadership and Management Programme, you will help ensure that teaching in fashion product and operations reflects contemporary research, professional practice and the changing needs of the sector. 

As part of the Fashion Business School, you will work collaboratively with course teams and colleagues across London College of Fashion. You will contribute to teaching and assessment, curriculum development and scholarly activity, while also helping students develop strong qualitative and quantitative research skills and their application within fashion management.

A key part of the post will be supporting an undergraduate year group, taking responsibility for students’ pastoral support, progress and attendance. You will build positive relationships with students and work with colleagues across academic, technical and student support teams to create an engaging, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

About you 

You will bring relevant expertise in Fashion Product and Operations, together with experience of teaching and assessment within higher education or comparable professional experience. You will have an undergraduate degree and a higher degree, or equivalent experience, in a relevant subject. 

You will also bring evidence of research, teaching, knowledge exchange and/or professional practice that can contribute to the continued development of the programme and Fashion Business School. A PhD or higher-level research degree and membership of the Higher Education Academy would be advantageous, although neither is essential. 

You will be an effective and inclusive communicator who can engage with a diverse student community, work collaboratively with colleagues and build positive relationships with students. You should also be well organised, able to manage competing priorities and confident in bringing practical and creative approaches to new challenges.
