Research Associate (Fixed Term)

We wish to recruit a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the laboratory of Prof Adrian Liston and Prof James Dooley within the Department of Pathology, University of Cambridge (https://www.listonlab.uk/). Employment will be at the G7 Research Associate level at the University of Cambridge.

The project is based on understanding tissue-resident regulatory T cells. The project will include in vivo CrispR screening and retrogenic TCR analysis of regulatory T cells in mouse tissues. The work aims to understand the basic biology of regulatory T cell tissue homing and residency in diverse tissues, during health and disease. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of regulatory T cell biology and experience in managing ambitious projects.

Candidates must have a PhD in immunology or the related biological sciences, and a track record of research achievements. Knowledge of in vivo mouse immunology, including procedures and high dimensional flow cytometry is essential. Fixed-term: The post a fixed term position until 31.08.2028 in the first instance with a negotiable starting date and subject to a 6-month probationary period. Opportunities will be available for motivated candidates to apply for fellowships or contribute to grant applications for extended stays. Historically, of the ~30 post-doctoral researchers who have joined the laboratory, when they have left our lab 27% have gone on to tenure-track academic positions, 27% have gone on to another post-doc position, and 42% have gone on to positions in biotech or pharma.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.

The position is based within the Division of Immunology in the Department of Pathology. The Division offers a highly collaborative and collegiate environment, with advanced scientific facilities in the centre of Cambridge. We host an external seminar series as well as internal talks, journal clubs. There are approximately 40 research groups spanning a wide array of disciplines, including infectious and genetic diseases, immunology and cancer biology.
