As the University’s lead for immigration compliance and sponsor assurance, you will play a key role in ensuring the institution meets its obligations under the UKVI Student and Worker Sponsor Licences. Acting as the University’s principal operational advisor on sponsor compliance, you will provide expert guidance, leadership and assurance across the organisation, working closely with colleagues in HR, Admissions, Registry Services, Academic Departments and the University Secretary’s Office to ensure compliance requirements are understood, embedded and effectively managed.

You will lead the development and oversight of the University’s immigration compliance framework, including monitoring, auditing, risk management, policy and governance, training and regulatory change. You will be responsible for maintaining audit and inspection readiness, coordinating responses to regulatory reviews and compliance findings, and providing clear assurance and reporting to senior management.

With responsibility for both student and worker sponsorship, you will also provide specialist advice on complex compliance matters, support the effective operation of the Sponsor Management System and work collaboratively to build institutional capability, resilience and a strong culture of immigration compliance.

Educated to Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent through relevant professional experience, with significant experience of UK immigration compliance within the Higher Education sector. You will have a strong track record in audit, quality assurance or regulatory compliance, alongside experience of developing and implementing policies and procedures and delivering effective training, guidance and advice to colleagues.
