Are you an experienced Intranet Manager looking to make a meaningful impact? Join the OxIntranet team at the University of Oxford and make a difference within a globally renowned institution.

Contract: Fixed term until 31 July 2028

About Us

Spanning the historic streets of the "city of dreaming spires", the University of Oxford has been ranked the world’s leading university for ten consecutive years. A place where centuries of tradition meet world-changing innovation, we offer you the chance to shape the future in an inspiring environment that promotes excellence.

You’ll contribute to an organisation delivering ground-breaking research that tackles global challenges, from advancing sustainability to pioneering healthcare solutions, and join a diverse, inclusive community that champions your wellbeing and development.

OxIntranet is the University’s first Oxford-wide intranet, bringing together the information staff and students need to work and study in one place. Developed as part of a programme to transform Oxford’s digital communications, it is being rolled out across the University to provide a reliable source of content on a single, user-friendly platform.

What We Offer

Working at the University of Oxford offers several benefits, including:

  • 38 days of annual leave (inclusive of public holidays), with the option to purchase up to 10 extra days and additional leave after long service.
  • One of the most generous family leave schemes in UK higher education, including up to 26 weeks of full-pay maternity and adoption leave and 12 weeks of full-pay paternity/partner leave.
  • Hybrid and flexible working.
  • An excellent contributory pension scheme.
  • Affordable and sustainable commuting options, including a cycle loan scheme, discounted bus travel and season ticket loans.
  • Access to social, cultural and sports clubs.

About the Role

This varied and exciting role will make a real difference to staff and students across the University.

Working closely with content owners, you will provide guidance, support and governance to ensure OxIntranet content remains accurate, relevant, accessible and aligned with agreed standards.

You will take ownership of key strategic content areas, including the homepage, news and events, navigation, search and other critical user journeys. Through regular content reviews, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement, you will help ensure OxIntranet remains a trusted, effective and engaging source of information.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced digital content professional who has managed content across a large intranet, website or digital platform. You’ll have a strong understanding of content strategy, governance and lifecycle management, and know how to keep content accurate, relevant and useful. Experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 would be a strong advantage.

You’ll be confident working with a range of stakeholders and content owners, with a good understanding of user experience, information architecture and content design. You’ll use analytics and user insights to identify opportunities and continually improve the user experience.

You’ll also be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and an understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive content practices.
