The Royal Veterinary College, University of London - External Relations

Location: London
Salary: £35,311 to £40,528 per annum Including London Weighting
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 3rd September 2026

Job Ref: EXR-0257-26

Interview Date: Tuesday 06 October 2026

An opportunity has arisen to join the RVC Admissions Team as a Senior Admissions Officer (Postgraduate & Collaborative Courses).

This is a varied role with particular responsibility for admissions to the RVC's postgraduate portfolio, including taught and research degrees and our Clinical Training programmes, as well as courses delivered collaboratively with partner institutions. Working closely with Course Directors, supervisors, clinical and academic colleagues and our partner institutions, you will oversee the applicant journey for these courses and provide specialist admissions advice and guidance.

Alongside managing your own portfolio, you will work with the other Senior Admissions Officers to support the day-to-day operation of the Admissions Team. You will help supervise and coordinate the work of the Admissions Officers, identifying priorities, overseeing workloads and ensuring that applications are processed accurately and within agreed service levels.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised and able to take ownership of a busy and varied workload. You will need to be comfortable managing competing demands, anticipating upcoming priorities and ensuring that work stays on track, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You will be confident making decisions and using your own judgement, with the ability to quickly understand and apply complex information.

You will have experience of working in a Further Education, Higher Education or Professional Body environment and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous admissions or postgraduate admissions experience would be an advantage, but is not essential, and experience of supervising or supporting the work of others would also be beneficial.

Our Admissions Team is based at our Camden Campus and the post-holder will be primarily based in Camden. Following successful completion of probation, the post-holder will be able to apply to work from home for up to two days per week.

We offer a generous reward package and benefits including:

  • Competitive and attractive pension package
  • Generous 30 days annual leave, plus bank holidays and concessionary days
  • A range of family friendly policies, including adoption, maternity and paternity pay and leave
  • On-site café and restaurant
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Free minibus service between Potters Bar station and our Hawkshead Campus

Potential applicants wishing to discuss the position informally are encouraged to contact:

Sarah Wilshaw, Deputy Head of Admissions, sawilshaw@rvc.ac.uk

Please note: We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position, and applicants must have the existing right to work in the UK.
