Birmingham Newman University has an exciting opportunity for an exceptional and forward-thinking Director of Finance to join its University Management Team. You will be responsible for driving forwards transformative and innovative developments within the University’s finance function and for leading improvements in financial planning and reporting.
This newly created senior leadership position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the transformation of the University's Finance function within a growing, ambitious and values-led institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a modern, resilient and high-performing finance service that supports the University's strategic ambitions, enhances financial sustainability and enables effective decision-making across the organisation.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a senior leadership position with a significant cross-institutional remit. You will deputise for the CFO and represent the University on professional groups and committees. You will be expected to develop excellent relationships with colleagues across the University and with external partners, improving financial planning and forecasting and leading on digital and technological innovations.
Strong candidates will bring significant experience of developing and delivering transformation projects within Finance functions and of continuous improvement in financial reporting and budget holder support. Experience of working in a complex environment and of developing excellent relationships with stakeholders is essential.
