Job description:
We have an exciting opportunity in the Machining group for someone with a passion for Machining looking to use their skills to make an impact on the UK Defence sector.
You will join the Machining group in our large and diverse academic department of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC). Your standing and approaches will further strengthen our strong international research profile and our reputation for novel, research-led teaching.
You will work in a well-connected team with world-leading reputations in the AMRC. We are well known internationally for our research and are one of the largest research groups in Manufacturing research in the UK. You will use your leadership and knowledge to provide essential support to the Machining group helping to ensure the reputation of the University by delivering critical defence projects.
As this role requires Senior Technical Fellow, it provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in machining processes. This role offers you the opportunity to deliver sovereign capability by playing a key part in defence projects.
In this varied role, you will be responsible for a large defence project. Working alongside the Head of the Machining group, the role will offer you an opportunity to work closely with key external partners. With responsibility for technical delivery and resource and task management. Other key aspects of the role will include line management, roadmapping and planning for technology development.
