Research Assistant/Research Associate (Fixed Term)

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated post-doctoral research scientist to develop the neuroimmunology theme of the TBI-REPORTER framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and running experiments involving high parameter spectral flow cytometry, single nuclear RNA sequencing and tissue spatial transcriptomics. The candidate will also be responsible for teaching and supporting PhD students in the group around these and related techniques.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) research, leveraging cutting edge immunological techniques to understand the effects of dysregulated inflammation in TBI, with the goal of implementing immunotherapeutics to improve outcome. 

The appointee will have a minimum Doctoral degree in a scientific, medical, or health-related discipline. Experience of spectral flow cytometry, single nuclear RNA sequencing is essential, as is a working knowledge of TBI and its immunology.

The position will be based in the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. Applicants will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive and dynamic research environment.

Fixed Term: The funds for this position are available for 2 years in the first instance.

Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will initially be appointed as a Research Assistant (Grade 5, Point 38 £34,610) moving to Research Associate (Grade 7) upon confirmation of your PhD award.
