On the 1 August 2026, the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent formed a pioneering new multi-university group called London and South-East (LASE) University Group.

Should you join us, you will be employed by LASE but will work as part of the University of Greenwich academic division, contributing to its distinct strengths, community and identity while also being part of a wider group that brings together the scale, resilience and shared ambition of both universities.

Through LASE we aim to deliver outstanding education, impactful research, and meaningful regional and global impact.

We are seeking additional staff members to join our growing Psychology programmes in the School of Human Sciences on a fixed term contract to cover periods of maternity leave. There are 2 posts available, the first starts on 1st October 2026 and the second starts on 1st November 2026.

The School of Human Sciences primary base is the fantastic Dreadnought building on the World Heritage site at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich. We have a further campus at Avery Hill.

You will be joining a School and Faculty that is building a strong interdisciplinary and cross-professional approach to solving the grand challenges facing society. We are looking for colleagues who will have a commitment to maintaining and building the University’s excellence in teaching and learning, and who are doing research that has the potential for significant long-term academic and societal impact. We welcome applications from individuals with an interest in any area of psychology. This reflects our already strong coverage of core curriculum areas and clear research interest groups.

As a faculty we also welcome candidates whose research work will resonate with one or more interdisciplinary Faculty Research Centres within the Institute for Lifecourse Development.

The school has an active and growing research base. We had a strong performance in REF2021 particularly with regard to ‘research environment’. The University is currently rated TEF GOLD, reflecting our excellent teaching and learning. The school was nominated as ‘School of the Year’ in the Student Led Teaching awards, 2023.

We are looking to recruit an individual with a developing track record of scholarly outputs and professional activities who, at the same time, is able to demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence and innovation as well as appropriate experience of teaching in the HE sector for this level.
