The role
The Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Bristol is seeking to appoint TWO Teaching Associates in the School of Engineering Mathematics and Technology (SEMT). These posts are within our teaching pathway and so the focus of the post is delivering teaching and the associated administration. The post is funded for a fixed term period until 30th Sept 2027. The successful applicant will have broad teaching and admin responsibilities across our undergraduate and MSc degree programmes. Applicants should make it clear in their covering letter which degree programmes and what topics they could teach.
What will you be doing?
You will play an active role in delivering high-quality, innovative teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will supervise and assess research projects, provide personal tutoring, and contribute to lectures, laboratories and problem classes. The role holder will be responsible for teaching at levels appropriate to their specialism and may help to organise such teaching. Their teaching will primarily be on classes prepared by other members of staff, but there may be some opportunity to contribute to the preparation and development of classes. The role holder will be developing their competence in teaching and/or clinical/professional work over a variety of courses and settings.
