The Role
We are looking for a Technical Tutor in Animation & Character Design to join our team.
Working within the Technical Services department this role provides excellent technical tuition to students studying Animation, Character Design and other related courses within the Design department. They will actively support animation equipment to ensure that it is maintained to a high standard and provide facilities that are functional, accessible and well presented.
Technical tuition can take a variety of forms such as technical classes, workshops, skills training sessions and 1-2-1 tuition. Although not responsible for the curriculum, they will draw on their expertise to collaborate with the relevant academic team on it.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate has a strong background in animation, character design and other associated skillsets. They will have in depth knowledge of ToonBoom Harmony and Storyboard Pro, some 3D modelling and games engine experience. They will feel confident in setting up, maintaining and supporting students with the usage or rostrum cameras.
They will be highly motivated by passing their knowledge on to others, able to explain complex technical concepts in an easy to understand way and be adept at problem solving an innovation in their work.
