Are you an organised, proactive administrator who enjoys working in a busy and varied environment? Do you have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities? If so, we would love to hear from you.
The Department of Computing is seeking a Research Support Officer to provide high-quality administrative and financial support to academic and research staff, including one of our large and active research groups.
This is a varied role with responsibility for research grant administration, financial monitoring and audits, as well as supporting conferences, seminars, workshops and travel. You will prepare reports and reconciliations, monitor grant claims, process expenses and purchasing, coordinate budgets and financial information, and respond to queries from grant and contract holders.
You will also play an important role in creating a welcoming and well-organised working environment, helping to ensure the smooth running of the staff common room.
Working closely with senior academic and professional services colleagues, including the Head of Department and Director of Operations, you will build strong relationships with stakeholders across the Department. The role therefore requires a professional and approachable manner, confidence in communicating with people at all levels, and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
