We are seeking an innovative and experienced Rehabilitation and Performance Lead to join the Health and Wellbeing Academy (HWA) in the School of Human and Health Sciences. The role will focus on embedding and leading a student-supported model of care designed to expand service capacity, enhance patient access, and contribute to sustainable workforce development. The postholder will provide leadership to students and staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective care within a supervised learning environment.

Combining expertise in clinical rehabilitation and applied sport and exercise physiology, you will work with a diverse population, including individuals with long-term conditions, those recovering from illness or treatment, and individuals seeking to return to, or exceed their previous levels of physical performance.

Working in close partnership with the University of Huddersfield's clinical technicians and Departments of Sport and Exercise Science, Podiatry and Physiotherapy, you will lead the integration of education and practice, creating innovative opportunities for service users, students, and staff. Through collaborative working, service development and a commitment to evidence-based practice, you will help establish a centre of excellence for rehabilitation and performance.

You will lead the operational management and delivery of the Gait and Performance Clinic and work with the Health and Wellbeing Academy and relevant departments to support the development and delivery of integrated prehabilitation and post-rehabilitation services.

With a degree in Physiotherapy, Sport Rehabilitation, Sport and Exercise Science, or a related field, you will have experience in:

- Designing and delivering structured evidence-informed rehabilitation programmes for musculoskeletal injury and/or clinical health conditions
- Conducting and interpreting laboratory-based sport performance assessments (e.g. VO₂ max testing, lactate profiling, and related physiological monitoring)
- Working in clinical, community, or integrated care settings, with exposure to prehabilitation and surgical pathways
- Supporting, supervising, or mentoring students and/or junior staff
- Service management, development, and leadership

We offer an excellent employment package, including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working.
