Clinical Lecturer or Clinical Associate Professor in Oral Surgery with Honorary Consultant Status (Teaching and Scholarship)

We are seeking a highly motivated and committed individual to further develop their skills in teaching and research in oral surgery and clinical and academic leadership. As a Clinical Lecturer or Clinical Associate Professor you will make a significant contribution to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes, leading on specific aspects and providing hands on clinical supervision for students and clinical trainees. You will also contribute to clinical quality improvement and staff development.

You will have a commitment to teaching and scholarship that is forward looking and reflects the needs of current students. You will be able and willing to contribute to research within the department in alignment with the research priorities of the School and the wider University. You will have a commitment to your own development as well as the development of others within a team approach to deliver an exceptional student experience.

You will also work as an Honorary Consultant in Oral Surgery with Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust as part of a consultant team contributing to the clinical oral surgery and acute dental care services with an emphasis on clinical teaching and high-quality patient outcomes and experience. You will be responsible for meeting the requirements of the Trust in terms of clinical governance and fulfilling the agreed job plan (see Appendix).

Effective interpersonal and time management skills are essential as is the capacity to motivate and enthuse others and to work successfully as a team member. Effective communication and administrative skills are also essential. As an academic member of staff, you will be required to deliver other duties that are commensurate with the grade and role.
