Unestablished Teaching Associate (Part Time, Fixed Term)

The Faculty of Classics is seeking to appoint a part time (0.6 FTE) Teaching Associate from 01 January 2027 (or as soon as possible). The role will be fixed term for 24 months due to limited funding. 

The post offers an opportunity for early career starters to increase their skills through a role in a vibrant and distinguished community of Classicists. Applications are invited from those with an interest in teaching Ancient Greek and Latin. The teaching will principally involve intensive reading classes in Greek and Latin for students without A level qualification or equivalent at entry. The successful applicant will also be expected to take a full part in the Pre-term IG language teaching and as marker and/or assessor of language papers across the Tripos. • Evidence of ability to teach Greek and Latin language effectively, and at all relevant levels, including ab initio;
• Evidence of ability to teach Greek and Latin texts from a variety of genres;
• Ability to play an effective role in the life and work of the Faculty as a whole;
• Ability to work as part of a team.
