Pay Scale: STANDARD GRADE 8

Salary (£): £49,119 - £55,031 per annum

Contract type: 3-year fixed term contract

Hours: Full Time (part-time will be considered, minimum of 80%)

About the role

Are you driven to advance continuous improvement (CI), deliver service improvement projects and provide the support to enable successful cultural initiatives?

The Department of Biochemistry is seeking to appoint a Strategic Projects and Continuous Improvement Lead experienced in CI approaches and methodology. Your role will be to grow the adoption of CI practices and manage projects that strengthen the professional services and support teams' contribution to the Department’s academic and research activity.

As a new role, this is an opportunity to shape how the Department approaches continuous improvement and delivery of strategic projects. You will lead the development and implementation of our approach to building CI skills and capability across the Department, manage a broad range of project activity and work with people from across the Department and the University as part of a broader CI network.

The actual starting salary offered will be within the advertised range, based on qualifications and relevant skills acquired.

About you

You will have experience working successfully within a project methodology and using CI tools and techniques. You will be able to demonstrate how you have used these skills to challenge constructively and introduce change. You will be a self-starter, capable of independent working, with clear communication and excellent organisational skills. You will also be able to work effectively with people in uncertain and/or complex situations. Your ability to work as part of a team, build strong and positive working relationships with colleagues across the department, driving and achieving results will be critical to success in the role.
