Full time: 35 hours per week

THE POST – REQ000628 - Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing and Community Health

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Lecturer to join our Department of Adult Nursing and Community Health in the Faculty of Health, Education and Social Care, where teaching, research and professional practice are at the heart of our activities.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic academic, ideally a NMC registered Adult Nurse, with a relevant postgraduate qualification and significant professional and academic experience. Other relevant professional registrations, such as HCPC or GDC, with appropriate professional experience may be considered.

You will join a dedicated team committed to inspiring our students and wider University community through innovative teaching, impactful research, scholarship and knowledge exchange. The successful candidate will provide academic leadership within Adult Nursing and Community Health, contributing to the strategic development, delivery and enhancement of our programmes and modules.

This post requires an experienced and motivated academic with strong clinical and professional credibility to contribute to the currency and quality or our health and social care provision. The ability to lead and contribute to programme and module development, curriculum enhancement and quality improvement is integral to the post, alongside engagement in research, scholarship, consultancy, CPD and knowledge exchange.

The post holder will also contribute to academic leadership, staff development and people management, supporting colleagues and contributing to the wider strategic priorities and ambitions of the Department and Faculty. Programme leadership responsibilities may form part of the agreed workload and activity profile.

The successful candidate should have the following:

• Relevant Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Education or a related discipline.
• Extensive professional and academic experience in Adult Nursing, health and social care, with a strong understanding of contemporary practice, healthcare delivery, service improvement and professional regulation.
• Relevant professional registration with NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (desirable).
• Recognised teaching qualification and/or Fellowship of Advance HE.
• Evidence of academic leadership and contribution to programme and curriculum development and enhancement.
• Experience of supporting staff development, collaborative working and contributing to strategic academic priorities.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting an outstanding student experience.
• Evidence of scholarly, research, knowledge exchange or professional activity relevant to the discipline.
• Excellent leadership, collaborative and interpersonal skills.
