Lecturer in Design for Theatre and Screen

We are looking for a Lecturer on our BA (Hons) Design for Theatre and Screen course at University for the Creative Arts (UCA) in Farnham, Surrey.

We are searching for someone who can build on and help expand our current teaching provision and our practice/research environment. We are seeking a talented individual from within the field of design for theatre (knowledge and experience of costume design and making is desirable but not essential), who is passionate about their specialist area, questioning and inventive in their approach to teaching and who would also enjoy working collaboratively to contribute to broader team-taught modules. We are specifically looking for an individual who has the practical skills, knowledge and experience to work with our students to expand their knowledge and skills in communicating design ideas and solutions using both traditional and digital techniques, including drafting/modelling.

It is expected that you will have experience of teaching at university level, or commensurate experience. We are looking for an innovative and inclusive approach to the teaching of design for theatre and screen, and you should be able to demonstrate an awareness of contemporary critical issues in the field globally. You must evidence a commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and widening participation in teaching, research, and university life.
