Digital Content Officer

The role

Based between our Headington campus and home working, and reporting to the Web and Digital Content Manager, the Digital Content Officer will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining the quality of content within Oxford Brookes University's Student Experience portal (ServiceNow) and staff intranet. Working closely with the Senior Student Communications Officer, ServiceNow platform team, and key internal stakeholders, you will deliver targeted staff training, carry out content quality assurance, lead digital development projects, and conduct in-depth user research to ensure an optimised digital experience for students and staff.

This is a full time, fixed term role for 18 months.

About the team

The role sits within the Strategic Marketing and Communications department, part of the Marketing, Recruitment & Engagement (MRE) Directorate. The team works to advance the profile and reputation of Oxford Brookes University and support strategic student recruitment and digital engagement. The directorate collaborates closely with academic faculties and professional services across the University, as well as external media agencies and prospective students, driving ambitious strategies to broaden access and enhance Oxford Brookes' standing as a leading global university

What will I be doing?

• Plan, design, and deliver targeted digital content and CMS training sessions for University staff editing content on the student experience portal and staff intranet.
• Perform web quality assurance checks and maintain portal content configuration to ensure an optimized digital student experience.
• Manage portal support requests and lead digital content development projects derived from support requests.
• Collaborate closely with the ServiceNow platform team to specify requirements, design, build, test, and deploy content and functionality updates.

What skills do I need?

• Demonstrable experience in web quality assurance, digital content management, and managing digital projects.
• Technical proficiency in Content Management Systems (CMS), web analytics tools, digital design principles, and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
• Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
• Educational background of A-levels or equivalent qualification/experience.

Based at our Headington campus, you’ll experience a vibrant campus atmosphere and benefit from a modern office environment. The campus is one mile from the centre of Oxford and is served by regular public transport. This role offers hybrid working between Headington Campus and home working.
