DRI Community Coordinator

The role and the department

Durham University’s Department of Computer Science and the Institute for Data Science have secured multiple research projects within the remit of Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) upskilling. These projects aim to create an upskilling landscape for the whole UK HPC community. This includes creating material for this upskilling, organising upskilling events, understanding the needs and requirements of the target groups and notably establishing a community around HPC, skills and continuous professional development both for the people creating material and colleagues benefitting from it.

We are searching for support to our community manager who can liaise with the UK’s DRI landscape – this includes research software engineers, platforms experts, PhDs, PDRAs and academics – and help us build up a thriving community which is committed to world-leading research. The candidate will work in close collaboration with the PI (located in Computer Science), the community manager, and will be placed in the offices of the Institute for Data Science in Mountjoy. The prime responsibility will be championing our upskilling events and continuous marketing, branding and outreach activities such as newsletter, websites, polls, social media and videos.

The post is eligible for hybrid working in line with University arrangements, and flexible working requests will be considered.
