Senior Lecturer / Lead Social Worker

We are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Lecturer / Lead Social Worker to join our Social Work team. As a Senior Lecturer you will contribute to teaching, quality assurance compliance, partnership working, research and income generation in the Department.  You will act as the professional interface with Social Work England and other relevant regulatory/professional bodies and maintain oversight of regulatory compliance and course approval/monitoring.

About you

You will be a registered social worker with an excellent working knowledge of the Social Work England professional standards. You will have the ability to work successfully with social work and social care partner agencies and have demonstrable skills in motivating, enthusing and developing students.

You will oversee the maintenance of Social Work England professional standards.  This will include supporting the implementation of the BASW Professional Capabilities Framework; providing expert professional guidance on the social work curriculum for all programmes; promoting a high-quality, research informed educational experience for undergraduate and postgraduate students; playing an active part in partnership arrangements with key partners, regulators, professional associations, local authorities and voluntary and independent sector agencies and  providing expert professional advice on issues relating to students’ suitability and fitness to practice.

You’ll need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and positively within a small academic team, excellent teaching methods with the ability to develop a variety of approaches to learning and teaching that is student-centred, inclusive and flexible.
