About the role:

Do you have the vision and expertise to design an innovative undergraduate curriculum that connects medical science with real-world impact?

Imperial College London's Faculty of Medicine is seeking a Curriculum Development and Innovation Lead to help shape and deliver our new Medical Sciences and Innovation (MSci) degree. This is a rare opportunity to play a leading role in developing a flagship undergraduate programme, creating an integrated and inclusive curriculum that prepares students to address complex scientific and healthcare challenges through innovation, collaboration and critical thinking.

Working closely with academic colleagues, students and external partners, you will provide leadership for curriculum design, implementation and enhancement, while also leading the programme's distinctive Innovation Studies strand and challenge-based learning activities.

What you would be doing

You will:

  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous enhancement of key elements of the MSci curriculum, ensuring a coherent and engaging student learning experience.
  • Shape innovative approaches to teaching, learning and assessment that reflect best practice in higher education and support student success.
  • Lead the design and delivery of the programme's Innovation Studies theme, including interdisciplinary and challenge-based learning opportunities.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with organisations across healthcare, industry, policy, entrepreneurship and the wider community, creating authentic learning opportunities for students.
  • Contribute to teaching, supervision, assessment, educational scholarship and programme evaluation.
  • Use evidence, feedback and evaluation to drive educational enhancement and ensure an outstanding student experience.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced and collaborative educational leader who brings:

  • Significant experience of curriculum design, development and innovation in higher education or a comparable setting.
  • Experience leading educational change and delivering successful programme enhancement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive, student-centred and interdisciplinary approaches to learning.
  • Experience building effective partnerships and working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to bring people together around shared goals.
  • A doctoral qualification, or equivalent professional standing, in a relevant discipline.

We recognise that talent is developed through a variety of professional and academic experiences and welcome applications from candidates whose career paths may not follow a traditional route.

What we can offer you:

  • The opportunity to shape a new and distinctive undergraduate programme at one of the world's leading universities.
  • A key leadership role in delivering innovative, research-informed education that has the potential to influence practice across the sector.
  • Access to Imperial's Educational Development Unit and a wide range of professional development opportunities.
  • A diverse and collaborative educational community committed to excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • A competitive salary and benefits package, including generous annual leave and pension provision.
  • An inclusive workplace supported by staff networks, wellbeing resources and opportunities to thrive professionally and personally.
