About the role:
The Faculty of Medicine has 8 Departments, spread over 7 Campuses. We are seeking to appoint a Faculty Technical Operations Coordinator within the Faculty of Medicine Operations Team, to deliver effective and joined up asset and facility management processes. You will be expected to cover the FoM estate, supporting efficient management of the equipment and shared facilities that are jointly occupied by various Departments.
What you would be doing:
You will be expected to support each constituent Department in the management of their physical equipment, including computing and telecoms infrastructure, and physical environment operational issues using your expertise and experience. You will require a high level of organisation with the ability to manage varying activities within your workload and have a good understanding of using databases and laboratory management systems.
You will be working closely with key Faculty Centre teams and Senior Laboratory Managers within Departments to deliver a clear asset management system, ensuring that relevant asset data is maintained, and facilities are monitored and supported across the faculty.
You will report to the Faculty Campus Operations Manager and will be responsible for line management of the FoM Equipment and Service Technician. You will be accountable for ensuring your direct reports are managed in line with Imperial’s Values, supporting them to deliver their key functions and facilitating both personal and professional development.
What we are looking for:
You will be able to work autonomously, be proactive in organising your workload and establishing strong working relationships across the Faculty of Medicine, Departments, facilities management and ICT. Having good communication and organisation skills will be key to the role.
You will be expected to have experience in line with the key responsibilities of the role and person specification, knowledge of higher education environments, laboratory and ICT/AV equipment, databases and laboratory management systems alongside the softer skills and desirable skills required for line management.
