You will draw on your proven track record as a forensic psychologist in a practitioner and/ or academic context. You will function as part of a team of psychologists and forensic psychologists, who will support the delivery of a new MSc Forensic Psychology programme within the School of Psychology. You will deliver teaching on a range of topics such as contemporary issues in forensic psychology, forensic psychology theory, and elements of forensic psychology practice. You will have responsibilities relating to module leadership and/ or programme leadership.
The School of Psychology sits within the newly named Faculty of Health and Wellbeing and plays a pivotal role in the development of Northumbria University. We have a well-respected portfolio of BPS-accredited programmes, including MSc programmes in Health Psychology, Occupational Psychology, Sport and Exercise Psychology, and MSc Psychology; our most recent addition is Forensic Psychology. We also offer undergraduate programmes in Psychology and Psychology with Criminology and deliver both on campus and via distance learning.
To be successful in the role you will have demonstrable experience and knowledge in your specified discipline, and you must have experience in and/or a desire to help shape education within the school. A recognised teaching qualification or equivalent teaching experience (such as Fellowship of AdvanceHE) will be beneficial to your application.
Applicants for the Assistant Professor (Practice) role should hold a first degree in a relevant subject and professional qualification or substantial professional experience in the discipline. You must also be able to demonstrate contemporary expert specialist knowledge and subject expertise within the relevant discipline/practice areas ensuring that the curriculum reflects the latest developments within practice.
Experience of designing, delivering, assessing, and evaluating high-quality teaching and learning practice as well as evidence of contributions to the development of contemporary practice are essential.
