Salary on appointment will be £48,822 per annum, with an annual increment up to £56,535 per annum.
UEA wishes to appoint a computing science academic to lead undergraduate teaching in creative computing at our CUCN-UEA Digital Creativity Institute in Nanjing, China.
The postholder will have expertise in computer programming and software development, alongside a wider interest in how computing technologies are deployed within the creative industries. This may encompass fields such as 3D graphics, digital game and app development, and user experience design.
You will have demonstrable expertise in teaching the fundamentals of programming, including object-oriented programming, data structures and Python.
Additional teaching expertise in web development would be an advantage, as would wider teaching experience in computer graphics, game development, mobile applications, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, or related fields.
You will initially lead the teaching and delivery of a suite of modules that form part of our BSc Digital Media and Creative Computing degree within the new CUCN-UEA Digital Creativity Institute. Those modules cover:
This full-time role is available from 4 January 2027 for a fixed term period of 3 years and will be based in Nanjing, China.
