Job description
The role
We are looking for an experienced individual who will join our small Subscriptions & Licensing team supporting the Library and Student Services (LSS) department’s delivery of an effective e-resources service to staff and students.
The particular purpose of the role is to ensure the delivery of continuous access of LSS e-resources, databases and e-journals through timely and effective administration and management of our resources.
This includes effective communication with budget holders, other stakeholders and our Procurement and Legal teams, and accurate filing and recording of subscriptions and related information. Tasks also include daily staffing of the e-helpdesk for on/off campus access queries, troubleshooting problems relating to e-resources, updating library records (currently using Alma, Primo and LibGuides) records, and collating usage statistics.
The post-holder will liaise day-to-day with colleagues within the Department, the University, the providers and subscription agent that supplies the University’s electronic resources, and related external organisations, so will need excellent communication skills as well as attention to detail.
The basic working week will be 35 hours, worked from Monday to Friday; 9.00am to 5.00pm.The department have a hybrid working scheme where the post-holder can work 80% on campus / 20% working from home. We also operate a flexitime system including a core hours pattern on working days. Core Hours M-F 10:00 – 16:00, within flexi-hours of M-F 8:00 – 18:00.
