Interview date: TBC. The interview will include a presentation during the interview slot and an administrative task reflective of the expectations within the placement coordination role.

Our award-winning Placement Team plays a vital role in helping students access high-quality experiences that build career confidence, enhance employability, and support both academic and professional success. We also support placement activity across our Professional, Statutory and Regulated programmes, including a substantial clinical portfolio and Initial Teacher Training.

Working closely with Placement Tutors, Careers Consultants and academic colleagues, the Placement Coordination Team, within which this role sits, supports students through curriculum-based placement preparation, one-to-one guidance, and engaging workshops and events.

We are looking for a skilled careers professional with experience of placements, employability and early careers development. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, a strong understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion, and a genuine commitment to supporting students to build their employability, confidence and readiness for the workplace as part of a team.

You will have :

  • Experience of working with students in an early careers context, either higher education or within industry and recruitment
  • Experience in designing, co-producing and delivering workshops and facilitating large group training
  • Experience of facilitating student placements / internship schemes or similar in or outside of the curriculum
  • Experience of working with students in an advisory or support role
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise, to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong IT, data management and administrative skills
