The Office of the Chief Digital and Information Officer provides shared professional services for the University’s digital and information services, including IT Services, digital governance, cyber security, research computing and data. About the Role
As HR Manager, you will lead the shared HR service for the University’s digital and information services, managing and developing the HR team while maintaining consistently high service standards.
Working closely with senior leaders, managers, the UAS HR Business Partner and specialist University teams, you will provide expert guidance throughout the employment lifecycle. You will lead complex employee relations matters, organisational change and significant HR projects, using your knowledge of employment law, workforce information and HR practice to support effective decision-making and manage risk.
You will also help shape the future of the HR service, contributing to people strategy, improving processes and controls, and exploring the responsible use of digital tools, AI and automation. Your work will help build an effective, resilient and inclusive workforce capable of supporting the University’s wider digital transformation.
About You
You will bring a degree or equivalent experience alongside a postgraduate HR or related qualification, such as CIPD membership. You will have substantial experience managing HR operations in a large or complex organisation and leading and developing an HR team.
You will have strong knowledge of UK employment law and experience managing complex employee relations and performance cases. You will also demonstrate experience delivering HR projects and organisational change, alongside excellent communication, influencing, analytical and problem-solving skills. The credibility and judgement to advise senior leaders on sensitive and complex matters are essential.
