Our research is both diverse and impactful, shaping law and society, addressing real-world legal and social challenges, influencing policy, shaping public debate and informing teaching at every level.
Our state-of-the-art facilities including mock courtrooms, crime scene investigation suites and interview and simulation rooms provide a dynamic and immersive learning environment for our students that mirrors real-world professional settings.
The School has a long tradition of marrying academic excellence and practical legal study and has a large suite of LLB, LLM, LPC and SQE programmes. The LLB has been adapted to include elements of preparation towards new routes to qualification under the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination.
The School is the home to the Centre for the Study of Law in Theory and Practice (LTAP). Whilst embracing a wide range of research interests the Centre has particular strengths in Public International Law and Human Rights, European Law, International Criminal Law, Banking Regulation and Finance Law. The School submitted successfully to the REF 2014 and 2021.
